PRI Show 2023
2023 may be winding down, but that didn’t stop Vibrant Performance from kicking into high gear at the annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show (PRI). The event, which was held from December 7th to 9th at the Indiana Convention Centre and Lucas Oil stadium featured over 1000 exhibitors in more than 3,400 booths, highlighting the latest products, services, machinery, simulation and testing technologies for the racing industry.
With SEMA 2023 in the rearview mirror, Vibrant Performance stayed focused on the road ahead by visiting state-side
friends while showcasing its newest products at the industry’s most performance-driven event of the year.
Visitors to the Vibrant Performance Booth were treated to world-renowned fabricator and AMSOIL Pro Driver, Scott
Birdsall’s latest build - a land speed record chasing 1993 Toyota X-Cab Pickup Truck outfitted with a 3.0-liter 2JZ-GTE engine built by ALC Racing Engines in Santa Rosa, California.
If you know Scott and his work through Chuckles Garage, then it’s no surprise that his latest truck boasts some serious numbers. 1,300 horsepower is achieved using Brian Crower internals, along with an 88-mm Garrett Motion G55-1950 turbocharger. The truck will run on methanol, E85 or gasoline, which will allow it to qualify for attempting several records on the salt. Tubing, fittings, fuel and fluid lines are proudly supplied by Vibrant Performance.
When asked why he chose the 1993 Toyota X-Cab as a platform, Scott simply said: “Mini trucks are awesome! I had one while in college, and always wanted to build one. I’ll never get tired of people’s reactions when they see a mini truck that sounds like a mean Supra!”
The truck’s vintage livery is a respectful nod to Ivan “Ironman” Stewart’s Trophy Truck from the same generation.
